Some of you will know that one of my parts, C, has a particular fondness for Scotch eggs and would buy them at every opportunity. Until I figured it out, I was effectively stalked by them – they constantly appeared, disappeared and reappeared in my fridge. They were invariably eaten under our bed, her safe place.
Some of you will also know that the Co-op is rebranding and going back to it’s old logo. This small change has put Scotch eggs off limits for C – the packaging has changed as part of the rebranding and she won’t eat them. We picked some up in Asda but they weren’t the same and were only nibbled at. We explained that the Scotch eggs themselves haven’t changed, but nothing would persuade her to eat one. We were at a bit of a loss what to do, but it seems she has solved the problem herself.
Yesterday we had a psych appt at 10am – much earlier than normal and destroying our morning routine – and went into town afterwards. Asda and Nero had both been done in my absence and in the fridge were two packs of three – six in total – chicken and bacon wraps. I decanted them from the flimsy packaging into airtight boxes and noticed this morning that two of them had disappeared.
Today we saw our psych at our normal time of 1pm and intended to go into town afterwards to pick up some dressings from Boots – that was done but also Asda and Nero’s again, Nero’s for the second time today. S really likes her lattes.
Looking in the fridge, two more wraps have disappeared and six more have been added. I think C has finally found something to replace her Scotch eggs and we’re very happy about that.
