I’m sure you’ll be thrilled to know that Facebook has finally accepted who I am, and after emails back and forth has conceded that my account was “suspended by mistake”. So onward and upward, or rather outward – to our garden.
Some of you will remember that last year our garden had a huge makeover to transform it from a jungle to a nice, useable outdoor space. In good weather we use it as another room and we love it. Since then we have slowly added things – planters, a chiminea, a giant beanbag – and this morning the first batch of our mail order plants arrived.
We spent some time planting our baby geraniums – which we call geronimos, for reasons nobody can remember – and generally tidying up. A spot of weeding, a bit of sweeping, the grass needs cutting but our daughter wants to do that. And then we sat. Blue sky, sunshine, birds singing. It doesn’t take much to make us……not happy, maybe contented? It’s one of those feelings we haven’t quite managed to find a word for yet.
The garden is one place where everyone likes to be, and if the weather cooperates then hopefully this year we’ll be able to make the most of all the hard work done last year.
